Why should I cook at home?

  Why home cooking? Did you know that as per government sources Australians of all ages have generally have a poor diet? 1   The same report says that  Australians do not eat enough of the 5 food groups and eat too many discretionary foods high in salt, fat and sugar. Inadequate fruit and vegetable consumption in particular is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney diseases and obesity.  Consequently, One in 2 (50%) Australians are estimated to have at least 1 of 8 selected common chronic conditions: cancer, cardiovascular disease, mental health conditions, arthritis, back pain and problems, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and diabetes. Nearly 1 in 4 (23%) Australians are estimated to have two or more of these conditions. Yes, this does paint a grim picture of our health as a nation and we should all work towards making it better.
